Thursdays, beginning September 8, 3:15 p.m.. Coding Club @ the Library. Art. Design. Coding with Scratch. Create your own digital works of art! Use the computer to design your own animations, create a paint editor tool, and learn how technology is used in the art world! No previous computer experience is necessary. 4th grade and up. Registration required.


Drawing from life

A crowd of children gathered at The Charlotte Library on Aug. 30 to get their first look at Liza Woodruff’s newest book, Emerson Barks. The renowned illustrator of 23 works can finally add the title “author” to her curriculum vitae, thus realizing one of her long-time goals. “I love bringing other people’s words to life on the page,” she said, “but I’ve always wanted to write my own stories to illustrate, too.”

Food trucks and literary buffs at Annual Charlotte Library Book Sale

The Charlotte Library Book Sale will be on July 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Town Green.

Book worms will come hungry for literature, but those with hunger in the more traditional sense will be pleased with the food trucks scene. This year’s event will feature edibles from Vergennes Laundry—Pastries and baked goods; Northern Bayou’s Cold Brew—coffee and Miss Weinerz Donuts; Little Garden Market—Hot dogs and other goodies; Caja Madera Tacos; Luiza’s Homemade with Love—Pierogis; and Maple Blues—Southeast Asian delights.

New day and time for library book sale 

This year’s Friends of the Charlotte Library book sale will move to Sunday, July 10, with expanded hours. You’ll find our usual tent on the renovated Town Green with a wonderful assortment of books at great bargain prices. Various food vendors will join us on the green to provide sustenance for hungry book browsers.
